John and Kathy Schreiber

John Schreiber grew up in Chicago and attended Loyola Academy in Wilmette for high school. After he finished there, it felt natural to go on to Loyola University, he said.

He graduated from the undergraduate School of Business Administration in 1968. After he finished at Harvard, he spent 20 years in real estate investment management. After he retired from JMB Realty Corp., he founded the New York based Blackstone Group’s real estate investment management business.

Schreiber still lives in the Chicago area, where he and his wife raised eight children and now have 12 grandchildren.
